Bradenton Redskins Fan Club Newsletter Volume 14, Number 10It was a Redskins game for 57 minutes, then with 2:41 left in the game Tony Romo threw a 10 yard touchdown pass giving the Cowboys a 7-6 victory. It was the lowest scoring game between the two teams in eight years. The Cowboys’ only other regular-season win with seven points or fewer was in 1970. Another statistic of interest is that the Redskins have never shut out the Cowboys in 99 meetings. The Redskins also suffered two more losses with Ladell Betts (left MCL) and right guard Chad Rinehart (broken right fibula). About the team Coach Zorn said: "I really believe this is a special team of players that will not chuck things in at 3-7. Being 3-7 is bleak. We'll look at our roster and patch it up and go again.... It was just a hard game for our players because we felt like, 'Here we go. We're climbing ourselves out of it.' To lose it that way at the end in a hostile situation is so hard." Losing is a team responsibility, and the Redskins did not score a single touchdown. On Sunday punter Suisham kicked field goals from 45 and 31 yards. But Suisham missed a 39 yarder late in the first half and a 50 yarder later. Coach Zorn called for the long attempt with 7:12 left in the game, justifying it by saying: "I'm just sure it's the right decision to make. I've got to go with that because he's an NFL kicker, it called for that situation and I'm not sure there's any doubt. Plus, had [Suisham made it], they hadn't scored all day and needed more than a touchdown to win." If you hold the Dallas Cowboys to only seven points and loss, is there something wrong? Some Redskins thought so. Wide receiver Malcolm Kelly commented: "The defense played their tails off, and I don't want to say we half-stepped, but we could have done a little better." And wide receiver Antwaan Randle El said: "That's the only way you can look at it from an offensive standpoint." Campbell completed 24 of 37 passes for 256 yards with one interception. ''Other than a couple of plays, we pretty much beat them,'' he said. ''It's been a crazy season. We keep losing one player after another.'' Rock Cartwright had 67 yards on 13 carries, and seven receptions for 73 yards. A MESSAGE FROM BOBBEThe final score of the game doesn't reflect the way the game was played or the enthusiasm of the 71 fans who gathered at F&F along with Mikey T., Howiette and Danoette of the HOGETTES. Sure we hated to lose to those doggone Cowboys (we'll get 'em on December 27th) BUT we had the Redskin Room rockin' and rolling. The Hogettes added so much excitement as pictures were snapped and autographs signed. They brought more bobble heads and Redskin memorabilia with them and both raffles were a huge success. We can't thank them or Jeff Valcourt enough for making this visit possible. We certainly look forward to future visits.Seven lucky fans won those autographed bobble heads and many more shared in winning other Redskin items. Our Trivia winners were: Greg, Roy, Marlene and Mary. I thank those of you who helped keep things moving along and I hope everyone had a good time. Pictures will be posted here on the web site and hopefully the Bradenton Herald will run an article. They printed an item in Fridays (11/20) paper announcing the visit of the Hogettes. Next Sunday the Skins play the Eagles -- kickoff is 1 p.m. Our Christmas Raffle will take center stage from now until the Holiday Party on December 13th and I hope you are planning to participate in the gift exchange at that time. Remember --- BRING ONE, GET ONE. Thanks to all of you for the large turnout, the excitement you brought and for continuing to support our Club and it's team. ................ HTTR Bradenton Redskins Fan Club Host The Washington Redskins Hogettes!Bobbe Reynolds, President of the Bradenton Redskins Fan Club, is flanked by two of the Redskins Hogettes at Sunday’s game. On Sunday, 71 Washington Redskin Fan Club members plus a smaller contingent of Dallas Cowboy fans gathered at the Firkins and Fox restaurant to watch the two teams clash. In attendance were several members of the famed Redskins Hogettes, that zany group of guys that dress as female pigs (it’s a long story) and raise funds for children’s hospitals, nationwide. Redskin’s memorabilia was raffled off at half-time with proceeds going to charity. Unfortunately, the Cowboys emerged as the winners with a baseball like score of 7-6.
